    Working as an IT admin and using the latest windows 10 GPO templates. You will find its in your best interests to change your startup configuration. You dont want staff playing candy crush and been distracted by all sorts of Jargon built into Windows.

    If you head to group policy management it will tell you that it requires a xml file. First thing you need to do head to a Windows 10 client machine then run power shell as administrator and type in the following:

    Export-StartLayout -Path C:\Temp\LayoutModification.xml

    You can change the path location depending on where you want to export the file to.

    Browse to the export location via windows explorer and open the file in any editor, note pad will do, from there you can edit what startup you want. Or for an easy effective way , design your layout on a client computer first then export it, saves you having to input shortcuts and links in the the .xml file

    See below the default Windows 10 startup layout is located

    if you want to customize the layout, lock all tiles down, but allow users to create additional tiles. use this code in the xml file

    <DefaultLayoutOverride LayoutCustomizationRestrictionType="OnlySpecifiedGroups">
