AS we all know, getting to your apps is slow in windows 10 Search. When ever you type it searches the web (BING) , then searches your apps. This is a good strategy by Microsoft to get more hits to its search engine. There is no simple on or off switch to stop the search. Only way to do this is through editing the registry.

Here is painless method how to stop Windows searching the web while searching in Windows 10

navigate to the registry . Regedit and go to this

    path [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search]

AllowCortana should be stored in this location.... Double click this item and set to 0

Restart your machine and windows search will no longer search online.
